As the 2023 to 2024 school year comes to a close, various sports at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) end with successful seasons. From basketball to swimming, many dragons made it to California Scholastic Federation (CIF) where they competed with the best of the best. Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) cross country team won first place in TCAA League Finals. They advanced onto the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the boys varsity won third place in the CIF State Championship.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys basketball had an exceptionally good season, going deep into the playoffs. They placed first in the Frontier league with a record of 6-2 and an overall record of 16-14. Team captains, John Cassidy ‘24 and Daniel Ferrer ‘24 led the team to the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) quarter finals in Big Bear, where they finished off their season strong.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys water polo placed third in league with a record of 4-4 and an overall record of 5-15. They made it to the first round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division Three Southern Section playoffs, making a good run to end their season strong.

Bennett Rodman '26 receives Athlete of the Week for her remarkable track and field season, where she has displayed exceptional skills in multiple events, including hurdles, pole vault and high jump. She was the only female athlete to represent the school at the 2024 California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals, where she placed second in high jump with a height of 5' 2". The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) community appreciates all her hard work in representing the school.

The March Madness women's final peaked at 24 million viewers, setting the record for most TV viewers of a college level women's basketball game.

On Feb. 29, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) baseball team, boys' volleyball team and girls' beach volleyball team faced opponents from St. Bonaventure, Oak Park and Fillmore. Beach volleyball and boys' indoor volleyball secured a win, while boys' baseball was forced to end in a tie.

In previous years the event has been rare to find, occurring sparsely. Recently, primarily during the summer of 2023, bioluminescent waves could be seen splashing the shores of Ventura County.
