On the cloudy day of May 19, 2023, students waited with anticipation for the annual Air Guitar show. Featuring various creative acts, ranging from singing and playing instruments to complicated dance numbers, it was a fun filled day for everyone. In the image, Dan Baker, dressed in an outfit inspired by Harry Styles and his son Miles Baker 23 showed their love for the artist through their performance of “Adore You” by Harry Styles. Taking the lead, Dan Baker sang and played piano while Miles Baker played bass and sang backup.

On the night of April 12, 2023, the Dragons honored their senior players while hosting the Laguna Blanca School. Hoping to secure a win on Senior Night and end their league losing streak, the Dragons played hard, but ultimately it wasnt enough to beat the Laguna Blanca Owls. In the photo above, Sean Scampone 23 (number 7) reaches in the air getting ready to tip the ball over the two Laguna Blanca blockers. Behind Scampone, Owen Houston 23 (number 8) is ready to cover in case the Owls send the ball back over.

On the windy day of Nov. 2, 2022 girls’ tennis faced off against Simi Valley High School at Ventura College in their first round of CIF playoffs. Julia Geib ‘25 and Lola Tennison ‘24 are introduced to the players in their first match of the day, high-fiving them with tennis rackets and wishing them luck in the game to come. Players from both teams, wrapped in jackets to stay warm, show their support by clapping and cheering on their teammates.

On Oct. 31, 2022, both Foothill Tech students and staff dressed up in fun costumes to celebrate Halloween. They paraded these costumes around the school, their looks ranging from from the classic witch to a giant traffic cone. Pictured above, Principal Russell Gibbs, Assistant Principal Frank Davis and Assistant Principal Katie Tedford are all dressed as inflatable dragons to show their school spirit. Since Foothill Technology High School’s Club Rush event on Sept. 16, 2022, clubs are now in full swing. This year, Environmental Club kicked off their operations by cleaning up the back garden space of the school. Club President Renee Schultz ‘23 collaborated with Mason Borkowski ‘24 and advisor Emily Hunt to plant new seedlings and clean up trash. The group also worked to restore the sustainable green house built by Borkowski over the summer. “Its solar powered, the entire thing is 100 percent recycled,” Borkowski explains. “It seems like the Environmental Club wanted to come back here and help out, build some new stuff, and Im clearly supporting that.” By the end of the day, the group was able to beautify the space, and successfully start off this years club.
