Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) girls volleyball team had a remarkable 2025-26 season with an overall score of 17-10 and 7-1 in the Tri-Valley league. With incredible and continuous improvement, the team has made a remarkable turn around from the 2024-25 season, even going so far as taking large steps in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

A successful 2025-26 season was put in place by the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls volleyball team. The girls stood their ground through league and held a strong 7-1 record, while their overall record stood at 16-5. The team would ultimately make it through California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Round 1, 2 and Quarter Finals, before being eliminated in the CIF semi-finals.

Success throughout this season was made within the teams senior leadership. Samantha Jacobson ‘26, Rylie Hannah ‘26, Emily Turner ‘26, Lilac Reyes ‘26 and Fiona Aulenta ‘26 all made sure to leave their mark before departure. Despite losing five core players, the program maintains high potential for their 2026-27 season, with many rising volleyball stars such as Freshman, Grace Canavan ‘29 and Sophomore, Fiona Holt ‘28.

On the night of Oct. 20, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) Volleyball team kicked off their first round of CIF against University Preparatory High School (University Prep). Making a quick decision to block the ball, Addison Hickey ‘28 (Number 8) and Janelle Nelson ‘28 (Number 12) were successful in stopping the ball's momentum. They both were able to secure many blocks and attacks throughout Foothill Tech’s match, and the Dragons ended up taking home the victory, winning 3-1.

The seniors pictured above are Samantha Jacobson ‘26 (number 1), Rylie Hannah ‘26 (number 3), Emily Turner ‘26 (number 4), Lilac Reyes ‘26 (number 6), and Fiona Aulenta ‘26 (number 13). The game started on the night of Oct. 7, 2025, with Foothill Tech playing Santa Clara High School (Santa Clara) and winning 3-0. The team's next match is on Oct. 9, 2025, against Thatcher High School (Thatcher).

Fiona Holt '28 and Emily Turner '26 collectively team up, as Turner sets the ball for Holt to spike. The communication was top notch on the court, and the girls, despite their loss, kept their hopes up and heads high.
Swinging through a busy week of girls volleyball
On the evening of Sept. 25, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls volleyball team set to face off against Dunn High School (Dunn) in league play. Foothill Tech easily swept Dunn in a 3-0 victory. The game was the second out of their three games in the week. With the win, the Dragons moved to a 3-1 league record.

Setting the Tone
On the night of Sept. 11, 2025 the Foothill Tech Dragons circled up together before their first league game. With the crowd cheering for the Dragons, they brought high intensity and energy no matter the circumstances during the game. However the Dragons lost in four sets.

Sports retrospective: a Foothill Tech 2025-26 athletics in review
The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys golf team had a great 2025-26 season. They ended with a record of 3-3 in League, and 5-5 overall. Sebastian Huovinen ‘27 competed as first team at CIF, accompanied by Ben Markov '27, who competed as second team. Huovinen is seen preparing to drive the ball, with the intention of attaining the lowest score at the end of the match.

Throughout the 2025-26 school year, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball team performed extremely well, ending in 3rd place with a record of 4-4 in the Tri-Valley League. The Dragons made it all the way to round three of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Playoffs. By the end of the season, they had an overall game record of 12-11.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) baseball team did well in the 2025-26 season, placing 2nd in the Tri-Valley league with a record of 6-2. They had an over all record of 16-13 and they made it to the third round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) in the Southern Section. The team demonstrated tenacity and perseverance throughout the season.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) softball team placed 4th in the Tri-Valley league with a record of 2-6. Although they had an overall record of 10-10, they unfortunately didn't qualify for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys basketball team had a good season over the 2025-26 school year. The Dragons finished their season 3rd with a score of 5-3 in the Tri-Valley League. They made it to the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Playoffs, but ultimately lost to Carter High School, ending their season.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boy's soccer team played well throughout the 2025-26 school year. They placed 3rd in the Tri-Valley league with a record of 2-5-1 and an overall record of 4-13-1. The dragons ended up making it to the second round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) in the Southern Section, but failed to progress due to an intense game against Fairmont Preparatory Academy.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls soccer team performed well in the 2025-26 school year. They had a record of 4-5-1 and placed 4th in the Tri-Valley league, attaining an overall record of 5-9-1. Despite their efforts, they were unable to qualify for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

Throughout the 2025-26 season, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys volleyball team had a great season, and played excellently. They finished the Tri-Valley league with a record of 7 wins and 3 losses. Along with this, they had a overall record of 16-9. The team also made history whilst winning the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division 7 Championship, marking the first time in the program that the team had achieved victory.

Throughout the season, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls golf team remained a daring opponent in the 2025-26 school year. Six Dragons qualified for the Individual California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Playoffs and the team won the Ventura Cup. The Dragons went to CIF as a team, but ultimately lost in the first round.

Foothill Tech's girls water polo team had a stellar season, finishing tenth in the Division 5 California Interscholastic Federaton (CIF) Southern Section. At the end of the season, the Dragons ended with an overall record of 11-6 and finished second in the Tri-Valley league with a record of 4-2.

During the 2025-26 season the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys water polo team tried their hardest and put in tremendous effort. Unfortunately, this effort was not translated to their win and loss record. Overall they had a record of 5 -10 and a league record of 1-5. Despite their low-scoring record, the team competed with strength and tenacity throughout the season.
