Sarah Page, a woman of confidence with an extensive resume, joined Foothill as the new Drama, English 9 and English 12 teacher.
Page grew up in Ventura. She attended Mound Elementary School and Balboa Middle School, and graduated from Ventura High School in 2004. Afterwards, she attended Cal State University, Chico, majoring in journalism with an emphasis on public relations and a minor in Spanish.
Page’s very first job as a teacher was during her eight month trip to South America, where she helped people communicate with large companies in the United States.
She previously taught Spanish and English, as well as AVID during a two-year course at Santa Paula High School. Page also briefly worked at Thousand Oaks High School.
She also taught English as a second language instructor, teaching beginners from various countries how to speak English.
“I worked at an international school. Students came from all over the world,” Page said.
All of her students from around the world were college attendees who aspired to go to University of Southern California (USC), Pepperdine University and Cal Lutheran University.
Page originally did not aspire to be a teacher, instead wanting to work in a public relations firm in Los Angeles. She described the job as “fast paced and empty.”
It was her trip to South America that helped her realize her passion for teaching. Page also credited the book “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert for giving her the strength to continue her journey even though she was alone for the first part of her trip.

Page said she is excited to start working on the plays in Drama class.
“I would like for my drama students to have an excellent play this fall and spring, so that they feel even if they dont purse drama as a career, they feel that they have grown in their ability to be in front of a group of people,” Page said. “With my 12th graders, I want to help them feel prepared and energized to start college,”
Sophomore Aubrey Paul described Page as “a really great person and teacher.” Paul added that past Drama teacher Karen Rodriguez will be always be missed, but that the drama program can only get better.
Sophomore Peter Jesperson stated that Page “is a new teacher, so it’s a bit of a struggle to get used to the new students, but everything should be fine.”
He remarked that the drama program will continue to be great, and that the whole experience should be a fun time.
“I feel welcomed by the staff and students. I’m happy to be here, I’m energized to be here,” Page said. “I’m already a Dragon.”
