The newest runner-up in the Resident Evil franchise has debuted on Feb. 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X and Series S.
Developed by Capcom, Resident Evil Requiem sends chills down players’ spines with its intense visual design and play style, offering many scares and frightening sights to encounter. The game dual molds two different play styles that fall under both a survival horror and an action-adventure genre. Take note: this game may not be suitable for kids, as it has an M for Mature 17+ rating.
One of the playable characters in Resident Evil Requiem makes their way from previous Resident Evil games. The beloved blond DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy makes his return, bringing in the action gameplay. With a large arsenal at his disposal, you can pave your way forward straight through enemies using nothing but brute force. Grace Ashcroft makes her debut in the franchise, her play style revolving around careful maneuvers around obstacles, keeping hidden and attacking when the time is right.
The story in Resident Evil Requiem takes place within the 21st century, 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City due to the events in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It focuses on a string of murders that have taken place in the United States.
Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent, must traverse the haunted grounds of an abandoned hotel that has been linked to the murders. After hearing of the police officer getting involved, Leon S. Kennedy must step into the scene.
Both characters’ paths are explored more within this story as they try to make it out alive. So try to survive the night in this new thrilling game, with new enemies, weapons and horrors awaiting around every corner.
