Ventura’s river estuary, a marshland area that funnels into the ocean, provides a refuge for many different species of birds; from sea and shorebirds to waterfowl and songbirds. The area is adjacent to a popular path for biking or running, but despite the proximity to human activity, the wildlife thrives in their own little world.

Out of the seniors in the Class of 2026, three students plan on serving our country in the near future. Pictured above are seniors Phoebe Hopps and Mia Ippolito. Every summer, residents of Ventura, Calif., always have one event to look forward to: the Ventura County Fair. Drawing thousands of visitors each year, the annual event serves as a place to have fun as a community. From its classic fried foods and sweet treats to live entertainment and thrilling carnival rides, the fair offers attractions for guests of all ages. Returning in summer 2026, the Ventura County Fair will feature new policies, updated attractions and expanded events while continuing to showcase the familiar favorites that have made it a longstanding local tradition for decades.

Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) boys baseball team earned a 3–1 victory over El Monte High School in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section playoffs on May 16, 2025. The Dragons set the tone early and maintained steady control throughout the game showcasing their defense and consistent energy on the field. Foothill Tech held firm to secure the win. The result marks an important step in the Dragons postseason journey as they look to build on the momentum heading into the second round that takes place on May 21, 2025 against Estancia.

Amidst the pre-finals week tension lingering in the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) halls, therapy dogs from "Love on a Leash" were brought on campus on Jan. 19, 2024 to uplift students' spirits and provide comfort as they begin to navigate their way into the upcoming week of final exams. Therapy animals offer stress relief, improve moods and provide comfort to enhance emotional well-being in diverse settings.

On the rainy night of Jan. 17, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys' basketball takes on Grace Brethren High School (Grace Brethren) in a defensive 54-43 win. The top scorers of the game were two sophomores, Nick Drucker '26 (number 5) and Elijah Spencer '26 (number 42). Drucker had 16 points, three of which were 3-pointers. Spencer had 10 points, most of which were scored from the paint. On the defensive side, Luigirey Guce '25 (number 1) had multiple steals, leading to fast breaks that got the Dragons easy lay-ups. Although they scored only 21 points in the first half, Foothill Tech pushed past their slow start, ending the game with 22 points in the fourth quarter. Their next game is on Jan. 19, 2024, against Villanova Preparatory High School (Villanova).

The Horror In The Stacks event took place at the E.P. Foster Library. The second floor was covered with black paper restricting all light sources and converted into a haunted maze. With a total of six zones to go through, the maze also had craft stations at the end to bring some peace after going through it all.
