Katie Elvin, class of 2013, is a first year member of the Foothill Dragon Press. She plays on Buena High School’s varsity girls tennis team and volunteers for Project Understanding, aspiring to become a special education teacher in her later years. Reading is one of her favorite things to do and she likes most of what she reads. In 5th grade Katie moved from Carlsbad ( San Diego), her home of 7 years, to Ventura. Katie has lived in two different homes in Ventura and loves her current butter yellow house more than any other she has lived in. Her brother, Andy, is almost twenty and is a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz; Katie misses him dearly so she decided to pretend that he never left and is just a little bit quieter this year. Katie enjoys, and hates, challenges and loves learning new things. Katie hopes that this year holds many great surprises and experiences for everyone.
