The 2024 to 2025 season went well for the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys tennis team, going 4-1 in the Tri-Valley League, resulting in a 3rd place positioning. In the overall season, the Dragons went 6-2, showing the extent of the talent and dedication of the boy's tennis team.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) baseball team did well throughout the full length of the 2024 to 2025 season, going 15-14, and ultimately placing 2nd in the Tri-Valley League, being beaten only by Saint Bonaventure High School (St. Bonnie). The Dragons also advanced to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs in their season, displaying the teams talent and dedication to the sport.

During the game on May 5, 2025 the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys' baseball team went against St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie). This was a compelling game which closed out the Dragons season as they remain undefeated in league. Garrett Ready '26 (number 22) cheering with the rest of his teammates for the players out on the felid from the sideline. The teams camaraderie and encouragement was a key component on Foothill Tech boys' baseball teams overall success.

On April 14, 2025 Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys tennis team went against Cate School (Cate). Doubles partners Dylan Files '26 and Gregory Davis '26 cheer each other on as they prepare for the next set. Although they lost this match, they continued to communicate on the court between points and persisted through.

Containing a long history of immigration, California has become known as a popular state for immigrants of all ethnicities and cultures due to its widespread protections and programs available for their benefit. Ventura itself has a diverse background with its population, with many finding success in their journeys with the opportunities presented within the city. Despite the complex system in place for immigrants seeking to enter the United States, many persevere in search of a better life or greater opportunities they may not have had before in their home country. Immigrants also contribute to the culture of the state and city in a variety of ways, overall benefiting everyone involved.

On the sunny afternoon of March 7, 2025, students took turns competing to see who could sink the first basket on the inflatable basketball court during Foothill Technology High School's (Foothill Tech) final Renaissance Rally. With a Spirit Week helping students get in-theme for the Rally, the events and festivities are designed to reward students with their academic achievement so far in the school year. This energetic match up drew a crowd of people cheering for both individuals and became a standout moment for Foothill Tech's organized event.

The annual Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) Winter Formal took place in the Ventura Music Hall on Dec. 7, 2024, with the theme of Winter Wonderland. The space was decorated with tinsel garlands and assortments of snacks for the students at the seating area. Loral Karian '25 commmented, "the location was really good. I think it's probably the best we've had so far." Many deemed this dance as a great success with the venue choice and pictured in the photo, students rushed to the dance floor with a date or friend for the slow song "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

Certain colleges that made the SAT optional are now reinstating the test for future applicants. Though this topic has been in discussion since the return of in person learning after the COVID-19 pandemic, students now wonder if they should pay to take the test and how much it really affects an applicant's profile.

On the night of Oct. 12, 2024, the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) filled with students from various high schools hosted the annual Horror In The Stacks event. Dressing up as different characters and themes, the six zones combined made a haunted house on the second floors of the E.P Foster Library. The screams of guests walking through echoed down Main Street and student volunteers gathered at the end of the event to capture yet another successful year of hosting Horror In the Stacks. After long months of planning, the students rush inside after the photo to store all the decorations and costumes on the second floor, where it awaits the coming year of this event.

Finally seeing the light at the end of the maze, the last zone, Scary Clowns, is decorated with bright wallpapers but in contrast a bloody carpet to walk through. The dead body sitting on the rocking chair is the work of the two scary clowns, hidden behind doors and walls.

The Idea Center is a community center that is free for all Ventura Unified School District (VUSD) students. It offers a variety of resources ranging from 3D printing, computers and internet. Students can choose to work on different projects with the help of the staff as well as getting some school work done.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) swim and dive team had a successful season this year. On the girls side of the team, they placed second in the Tri-Valley league and had four athletes move onto California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division three preliminaries. The boys placed third in the Tri-Valley league and had one athlete move onto CIF.

On May 4, 2024, the long awaited prom took place at the Poinsettia Pavilion with the theme of the "Roaring '20s". The entrance had a balloon arch with red and gold carpets welcoming students. After getting their wristbands, Associative Student Body (ASB) provided students with a place to check in bags and coats so they could be stored safely during the dance. Throughout the night, more and more students gathered in front of the DJ to dance, while others played games outside and socialized with friends.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) Associated Student Body (ASB) assembled a "Teen Beach Movie" Spirit Week, reminding students to finish the quarter strong as they head into spring break. From spirit days such as Pajama Day and Summer Coolin' to the Renaissance Rally at the end of the week, ASB planned events to bolster connections around the school creating a fun environment.

On Feb. 8, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls’ basketball team took to the court in the first round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section. The Dragons won against Crossroads High School (Crossroads) with a score of 36-32. Good defense was displayed by Olivia Mowad ‘24 (number 32), Petra Falcocchia ‘24 (number 23), Lauren Kaller ‘25 (number 0) and Kiara Zavala ‘26 (number 5). Although the score was tight, the team handled the pressure well and will now move onto the next round of CIF.

On the freezing evening of Jan. 11, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls' soccer team hosted St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie). In this anticipated game, Eva Gonvalves '25 (number 15) glances at the sideline and looks at her coach, Patricia (Patty) Gomez, who gives her suggestions on how to give her team an advantage. Goncalves '25 made some beautiful passes forcing the defense to stumble and give her team a 2-0 lead. Goncalves '25 is one of the most effective facilitators on the field and has also been called upon to be a leader for this years team. Later in this game, Foothill Tech will come out victorious over their league opponent, Bonnie.

The Horror In The Stacks event took place at the E.P. Foster Library. The second floor was covered with black paper restricting all light sources and converted into a haunted maze. With a total of six zones to go through, the maze also had craft stations at the end to bring some peace after going through it all.
