Karina Garcia became the third person to finish the open water swim from Santa Rosa Island to the mainland on Sept. 16, 2025. Garcia, a 2006 graduate from Rio Mesa High School, started her swimming career in high school, which ended after she graduated. Several years later, Garcia fell back in love with the sport through open water swimming as an adult, which led to her success in 12 open water marathons. Starting with her first marathon in 2016, she completed the swim from Catalina Island to the mainland, 20 miles, in 11 hours and 13 minutes, to her most recent marathon from Santa Rosa Island to the mainland, 27.5 miles, in 14 hours and five minutes. This time is now the record over all three swimmers to complete the 27.5-mile swim.

Jaylene Aguirre '28 is one of Foothill Technology High School's (Foothill Tech) most consistent and dedicated tennis players. She has been on the girls tennis team for two years, however, she has been playing for nearly 10 years. On the afternoon of Oct. 2, 2025, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) Dragons faced off against Cate School (Cate) Rams at the Ventura Aquatic Center in an intense game with both sides showing tremendous effort, eventually ending in a 14-3 loss for the Dragons.
