Othelia Blackler (Mrs. O), student store manager at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech), resigned effective on Jan. 9, 2026, marking the end of her involvement at Foothill Tech.
Mrs. O served as the Associated Student Body (ASB) Accounting Technician in the student store, helping to maintain all business and cash flow for student activities on campus, including selling school dance tickets and merchandise. At the start of the year, Mrs. O’s hours were reduced to four hours a day.
To maintain ASB financial operations and the student store, a replacement for Mrs. O’s position was selected and began training over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Campus supervisor Kim Aguirre, who has an accounting background, will continue the work that Mrs. O had done in the student store for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.
¨Our plan is … when we return from MLK weekend, [the student store is] going to be up and running,” Courtney Johnson, Foothill Tech’s principal, said.
The change marks a transition in ASB accounting and student store operations.”
Mrs. O’s resignation marks a transition in Foothill Tech’s ASB and student store operations. As Aguirre steps into the new role, the campus aims for continuity in financial management and support moving forward.
