On the chilly night of Dec. 5, 2025, the Foothill Technology High School boys soccer team hosted the Simi Valley Pioneers at Ventura College for an interesting and exciting game. After two intense and hard-fought halves, the Dragons were unable to claim the victory and lost 1-7, bringing the Dragons to a record to 1-4.

The Pioneers started the first half strong, and within four minutes, they had already scored their first goal. Shortly after, the Pioneers had received a penalty kick and successfully brought the score to a quick 0-2. After the Dragons had gained possession of the ball, it was clear they needed to score to help close this quick gap. However, within one minute after the Pioneers’ scoring, the Pioneers gained yet another goal to bring the score to 0-3 with the Pioneers in the lead. Despite their efforts to score, Foothill Tech had been caught offside and lost the opportunity to score.
After a corner kick by the Pioneers to help slow the game down, freshman goalie Titus Ruiz blocked the ball to prevent another goal for their opponents. Soon after the Dragons had lost the ball and were unable to guard the pioneers, Simi Valley scored again. With the score now at 0-4, the Dragons needed a way to get a goal, but with a corner kick and a failed shot attempt, the half ended with a score of 0-4.
The Pioneers started the second half off with the consistency of the previous half, scoring yet again in the first thirty seconds. The Pioneers had taken control of the ball for most of the game, and with many failed shot attempts, it wasn’t easy for the Dragons to score. The Pioneers had gained another corner kick, which helped them to score another hard shot goal, bringing the score to 0-6. However, despite the difference in score, Foothill Tech played hard-fought defense and made many saves at the goal to stop the bleeding.

In the final minutes, the Pioneers had another opportunity to score with another penalty kick, but it was saved by Ruiz. Shortly after, the Pioneers came back and blasted the Dragons with another goal. The Dragons had one last chance to get one goal when Asher Bayless ‘26 got fouled and gained a penalty kick, and fortunately for the Dragons, made the goal and closed the game with a score of 1-7.
