The Mountain Fire ignited in the Somis area on Nov. 6, 2024. First responders rush to the scene as the fire blazes across Santa Paula causing mandatory evacuation orders. Just hours later, the fire was headed towards the Santa Clara River and over the South Mountains outside of Somis. This unexpected tragic event has left Ventura County in shock and rushing to support those who were affected by The Mountain Fire. Nov. 5, 2024, marks one of the most highly anticipated and pivotal days of the year: Election Day. After years of preparation, the stage is set for a historic showdown between two major political parties. As shown above, Donald Trump, with his running mate J.D. Vance, is leading the Republican ticket, while Kamala Harris, with her running mate Tim Walz, is representing the Democratic Party. This election is set to be a defining moment in American politics, with both candidates offering different visions for the nation's future. This series covers a range of ropics such the importance of swing states, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) students' opinions on the election, enviromental policy and much more.

2024 U.S. Presidential Election: AP Government students' opinions on policies
On the sunny afternoon of Oct. 25, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) participated in the annual Trunk or Treat event hosted by students in the parking lot. In the picture above, Jaden Abara ‘25 hands out candy to roaming students and shows off her costume for Halloween.
Trunk or Treat: A festive celebration of the incoming Halloween
On the bright morning of Oct. 23, 2024, Vitalant did its semi-annual blood donation event at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech). Students who signed up were called in at different times to generously give blood to those in need. Arrows were placed surrounding different trailers, helping guide students.
