On the afternoon of June 4, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) celebrated the Class of 2026. Out of the seniors in the Class of 2026, three students plan on serving our country in the near future. Pictured above are seniors Phoebe Hopps and Mia Ippolito. Both Hopps and Ippolito plan on going to Loyola Marymount University in the fall. After their impressive high school careers, the graduates are fully equipped to take on the next chapter in their lives.

The reconstruction of solar panels is taking place in Foothill Technology High School's (Foothill Tech) back parking lot. This construction is due to residential complaints that the solar panels line the back of the school, blocking their view. The construction has caused many complications for students, including, struggling to get to class on time and insufficient parking availability. The construction is set to take about six weeks to complete.

On the evening of May 26, Foothill Technology High School's (Foothill Tech) Class of 2026 gathered at the A.W. McConnell Auditorium of Buena High School for Senior Awards Night. The senior class was presented with a plethora of scholarships and honors, ranging from academic to athletic. Recipients walked the stage to be recognized for their achievements, with a backdrop set up for photos. As names were called one by one, applause filled the auditorium, celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2026.

On May 22, 2026, the dragons entered the quad to enjoy the annual Air Guitar performance hosted by ASB (Associated Student Body) that featured talent showcases from each grade. With painted faces, leather jackets and electric guitars, these performers transformed the quad into an energetic rock concert. Bringing the heat, solos and energy, this performance seized the stage.

Due to the current principal, Courtney Johnson's, decision to take a leave of absence, Katie Tedford will serve as the interim principal for next school year. Tedford has worked at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) since 2002 and has been assistant principal since 2019. Tedford stated that she doesn't want to change much around campus but wants to put extra attention into the student body.

As current principal Courtney Johnson steps down, the hunt for an interim principal for the next school year begins. Johnson, after much consideration, realized that a gap year made the most sense for her as well as for her family. She leaves Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) with simultaneous feelings of sadness and excitement and plans to hit the ground running when she returns in the 2028-2029 school year.
