The 2024 to 2025 season for Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) cross country team went incredibly well, The girls' section of the team went on to place 2nd TCAA League Finals, ending their season in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Finals for Division 4, with Keera Wallace '26 being a notable runner, as she earned a new personal best in the 3-mile event with a time of 18:27. The boys section of the cross country team did exceptionally well, ending up with a third-place finish at the 2024 CIF State Cross Country Championships.

The 2024 to 2025 season went well for the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls golf team, with a total of 5 players making it to the Tri-Valley League Individual Finals, which took place at the Olivas Links Golf course and Santa Barbara Golf Club. Ultimately, only Audrey Yoong '26 ended up advancing to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section postseason, however the entire team showed dedication throughout the season.

On Friday, May 28, 2025, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) hosted its annual senior awards night. This night allows the staff at Foothill Tech the honor of celebrating all of the seniors’ achievements. Some of the awards include the Calif. State Seal of Civic Engagement, multilingual seal, athletic wall of fame, and dragon hall of fame.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) Associated Student Body (ASB) held the annual Air Guitar. Air Guitar is a talent show held at the end of the school year signifying that the end of the school year is approaching. Pictures above is Dylan Arevalo ‘26, known as lil pickle, performing his own rap song. Arevalo went on to win the "fan favorite" award by the end of the show.

On Dec. 16, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball team competed in a league match against St. Bonaventure High School, (Bonnie) and lost 47-76. Kiara Zavala ‘26 (number 5) runs the ball up the court starting an offensive play with hopes of catching up to St. Bonnie.

On Dec. 13 and 14, 2024, the Ventura Harbor hosted its annual Parade of Lights, with this year's theme being Candy Land. This event has free admission with some paid activities. They had kids rides, carnival games and some food vendors on the Harbor Village lawn. Along the main walkway, they had faux snow, a bubble guy and LED performers dressed up in light up costumes.

Matna 1631 is Ventura’s newest Korean restaurant. This place was opened by the owner of Sura, which serves Korean hot tofu soup, located in Oxnard, Calif. With Matna 1631’s grand opening on Jan. 30, 2024, the restaurant has been serving some of Korea’s favorite street food. From chicken wings and ramen to kimbap and bingsoo, this place will truly satisfy your cravings.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball had an exceptionally good season, tying for first place with St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie) in the Tri-Valley league, with a record of 7-1 and an overall record of 12-12. Team captains, Petra Falcocchia ‘24 and Lauren Kaller ‘25, led the team into the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3AA playoffs, where they made it to the second round and finished their season strong.

On May 30, 2024, the BioScience Academy held their annual FAD Night, honoring their seniors and allowing the new freshman parents to see all of the projects that their child will be doing. The night started off with a presentation for the freshman parents by Cohort 18’s presidents, Cameryn Henuber ‘24 and Taylor Liston ‘24. This was followed by mini presentations by all of the academy’s students where they got to talk about a specific topic that they have learned about this past year. After all of the presentations, the freshman parents left and the night continued for the senior parents. Tacos and many different desserts were served for dinner as the juniors in Cohort 19 performed a short skit, directed by Ian Clayton ‘25. Before the senior awards were passed out, Henuber and Liston gave speeches, reflecting on the past three years and all of the memories that they have all made together as a cohort. This was followed by cords being passed out, and Mika Anderson, the academy director, gave a brief speech for each senior talking about how much they grew during their time with the academy. After each senior received their cords, Anderson gave special specific awards to just a handful of seniors to highlight their accomplishments.

On April 22, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) baseball team took to the field for their last home game of the season and honored their seniors for all of their hard work and dedication to the team over the years. Mike Haas, the head coach, gave heartfelt speeches for each senior talking about how much of an influence they all had on the team both on the field and off.

On March 8 and March 9, 2024 the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) track and field team participated in the Ventura Distance Carnival and Spartan Relays. From distance races to 100 meter dashes to hurdles, the Dragon competitors gave it their all as they completed against teams from all over the county.

On Feb. 29, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) baseball team played in their seventh game of the season against St. Bonaventure (St. Bonnie). The Dragons tied 5-5 after nine innings. Adam Arth ‘24 (number 8), hit a home run and celebrated it with his team at the bottom of the first inning.

Entree to Employment is an annual event hosted by the BioScience Academy. This event is a formal dinner which allows the upperclassmen of the academy to meet professionals in the field of medicine, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The dinner is run by Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) leaders and staffed by the sophomores who set up, served meals and cleaned up.

On Feb. 8, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls’ basketball team took to the court in the first round of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section. The Dragons won against Crossroads High School (Crossroads) with a score of 36-32. Good defense was displayed by Olivia Mowad ‘24 (number 32), Petra Falcocchia ‘24 (number 23), Lauren Kaller ‘25 (number 0) and Kiara Zavala ‘26 (number 5). Although the score was tight, the team handled the pressure well and will now move onto the next round of CIF.

To commemorate their seniors, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls’ basketball secured another league victory against Cate High School (Cate) in their last home game of the season on Jan. 25, 2024. Adding to the win, it was also the team’s Senior Night, where they honored their seniors with speeches, flowers and balloons.
