On Monday, the girls’ golf team competed against La Reina High School on the Los Robles Golf course. The girls were defeated by 63 points with final scores of 287-224.
Coach Janey Dunn and the team ran into some technical difficulties upon arriving at the course.
“We were scheduled to play at Sunset Hills Country Club, but they had scheduled a tournament at the same time as we were supposed to be playing so we had to quickly drive down the road to another golf course,” Dunn said.
Despite the difficulty, the team arrived at the course and started their match, which ended in a loss. Dunn believes that although the team lost, so far, this has been their best score all season.
“We still shot our lowest team score of the season,” Dunn said.
She also believed the team did well and appeared to be more relaxed.
“I think the girls are starting to become more comfortable out on the course and our scores are improving,” she said.
However, they lost, and Dunn feels they still have things to improve on.
“Our putting and diving [can be improved],” Dunn said.
Both overall and in league, the team has had two wins and one loss.
