The year of 2023 signified a cultural shift in the scope of arts and entertainment, both in the global sector of popular culture as well as at Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech). School events and dances gave students needed excitement, streaming services and movie theaters had an apparent surplus of entertainment and a variety of fashion trends took social media and students by storm. The writing section of the Foothill Dragon Press has compiled a list of 2023’s highlights, from movies to concerts, books to fashion trends and video games to Foothill Tech’s best. Choose from the panels below to view:

2023 was a compelling year when it came to movies. Hollywood was booming, with Barbie and Oppenheimer taking over the summer and Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse setting the bar high for animation in the early half of the year. Ranging from comedy to horror, theaters to streaming, movies were at an all time high in 2023.

Literature is a consistent influence in the lives of many people. It comes in many forms, including books loved by people all across the world. Looking at the year of 2023, writers Kalea Eggertson and Jane Kim reflect on books from throughout the previous year.

Located in the wellness center, are grey baskets full of supplies. They store markers, pencils, pens, and notebooks for all of students academic needs. They also have hygiene products like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and feminine products.

Earth Day 2024: Planet vs. Plastics
On the evenings of April 17, 18 and 19, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) students, who are apart of the Drama Department, put on a show of The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza for parents, students and staff to enjoy. This is the Drama department’s second production of the school year starting with Elf The Musical in December. Parents and students filled the chairs in Spirito Hall bringing flowers, cards and gifts to support their students, as well as cash to buy snacks that were provided by Drama department as a fundraiser for the club. The night was filled with joy, fear, laughter and gloating all provided by the students of the Drama department.
