Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) has been recently active in sports, such as baseball, swim and boys tennis. As spring athletics wind down, various athletes move on to California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), where they compete with the best in their divisions.

As the 2024 spring sports season came to a close, specific teams from Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) qualified to compete in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) postseason play. Baseball, boys tennis, and swim and dive teams were some of these select few that progressed into the first rounds of CIF. Although baseball lost in the first round, ending their season, Foothill Tech brought one swimmer onto CIF finals where she competed in two individual events. Foothill Tech’s boys tennis team also moved on, receiving a Bye in the first round of CIF and progressing through the second round. On the cloudy afternoon of May 3, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys tennis team laid the groundwork for their round two California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) match. With well-prepared players and a strong team morale, Foothill Tech closed out the day with a victory in their favor.

On May 1, 2024, a handful of swimmers from the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) swim team headed to Mt. San Antonio College after qualifying for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3 prelims. The girls 400-yard freestyle relay team, composed of Cynthia Hu 26, Camilla Lewis 25, Rihanna Samples 25, and Mikaela Clabaugh 25, placed 22nd overall with a time of 3:59.13, shaving off milliseconds from their previous best time.

On Feb. 29, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) baseball team played in their seventh game of the season against St. Bonaventure (St. Bonnie). The Dragons tied 5-5 after nine innings. Adam Arth ‘24 (number 8), hit a home run and celebrated it with his team at the bottom of the first inning.

On Feb. 29, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) baseball team, boys volleyball team and girls beach volleyball team faced opponents from St. Bonaventure, Oak Park and Fillmore. The college application season is a stressful time for most American high school seniors as they wait for their highly anticipated college decisions. Whether a rejection or an acceptance, for many the biggest slap in the face is a spot on their dream schools waitlist. A colleges waitlist is a list of students who have met all the requirements for admission but there are just not enough spots available in the class. So rather than rejecting these students, they have the chance to opt onto the waitlist, where they have a chance of being accepted after some students have rejected their admissions offer. On the warm day of May 11, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) competes in a long day of running and field events at California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals. Foothill Tech boys make history, achieving the first CIF Finalist title with a combined point total of 33. Each of the seven boys that made it to CIF Finals earned points for the team and were able to place as one of the top six athletes on division four.
