This body scrub is so simple and easy to make, even the laziest of people can do it. With only a few steps and a few ingredients, this scrub will give you the smooth legs you desire.
What you need:
- Sugar
- Coconut oil
- Almond extract
- Food coloring (optional)
There are no measurements to this DIY, because quite frankly all of this can be eyeballed.
Steps:
1. Melt down coconut oil under hot water or in the microwave. Oils such as olive, canola, and even peanut oil work as long as the oil is in a liquid state of matter. Add coconut oil to sugar. For a scrub with more exfoliating properties, add more sugar to create a dryer mix. The sugar should be binded together by the oil. If you’re more concerned with moisture, add more oil to create a wetter mixture.
2. You could either add essential oils or extracts for fragrance. I prefer almond extract and usually add about half or a full teaspoon.
3. Adding color to your scrub is completely optional. If you would like a colored scrub, add several drops of food coloring and mix thoroughly until the food coloring is completely dissolved.
My favorite way to use this body scrub, is to exfoliate prior to shaving my legs. The sugar will remove dead skin, while the coconut oil will hydrate your skin. Usually I don’t even have to use a shaving cream to shave after using this scrub. And now just enjoy!
