On Wednesday night, the varsity boys’ basketball team competed against Villanova High School. The Dragons won by eight points with a score of 50-42.
Sophomore Cameron Strain scored ten points, junior Tyler Ragan-Sutton scored nine points and freshman Jack Vielbig scored nine points for the Dragons. Junior Devin Brown scored eight points and had ten rebounds during the game.
Coach Dean Prophet felt that the team struggled with transitioning to defense and “finishing inside.”
Prophet felt that the team was “a bit rusty” but played “well enough” to win the game.
“[The team] played a good last half… to secure the win,” Prophet said.
Prophet hopes the team will improve and become “closer” as a team.
“[I hope they] get better everyday, play hard every practice and game and be great teammates for each other,” Prophet said.
The Dragons have five wins and six losses overall with one win and no losses in league.
