Grade: Junior
Age: 17
Running For: Senior Class Vice President
If you were elected what would be your top priority?
Silva: This year I know that they have been focusing a lot on bringing the class together and making connections so I would really make an effort to engage the senior class as much as possible. I am fairly sure that I would be co-officer with Anna Cogswell, so we have been brainstorming things like new dances and I know Mallory was hoping we could recognize the kids who play for sports teams more than they are. So hopefully focusing on those kinds of things.
Why did you choose to run for an ASB position?
Silva: This was my first year in ASB and I was the publicity director. I’m hoping to have a more challenging position next year and move up and have a higher role. I am organized and I think I would go a good job in this position.
What previous ASB experience do you have?
Silva: Well this is my first year in ASB and, as I said, I was publicity director. Other than that, I haven’t had any ASB experience, but I have been to a lot of leadership conferences.
Why do you want to be Senior Class Vice President?
Silva: I am pretty busy, so I was worried that if I ran for President and I won that I wouldn’t be able to balance those responsibilities super well. I wanted to have a bigger role next year so I thought that this would be not too much but just enough. I also didn’t know who was running and I wanted to make sure that there would be someone to help Anna because that’s a big job.
