Junior Brooklyne Shepherd is a second-year writer for the Foothill Dragon Press’ Arts and Entertainment section. One of Brooklyne’s obsessions are pink donuts; it’s the only donut she will order. She also enjoys cookie butter and it has become a must-have. Though academics and journalism take up a large portion of her time, Brooklyne is on Buena’s varsity cheer team. Previously she did competitive cheer for California All Stars, but decided to switch to high school cheerleading due to the workload she anticipated for junior year. As a flyer, the individual being thrown into the air, she has learned to get right back up after her falls, and move forward. Brooklyne enjoys writing fashion profiles and gets most of her inspiration from her sister, Project Runway, the internet and social media. Her personal style is not categorized to one single style, as she is constantly experimenting. She is currently binge watching The Foster’s and Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. Brooklyne has not settled on a major thus far, but she would be delighted to attend schools like Pepperdine University, Puget Sound or UCSB in the future. Due to her love for children, she does see an interest in becoming a pediatrician, but nothing is set in stone.
