Riley Knouse is a third-year journalist, Opinion section editor and Foothill senior. She joined the Dragon Press because she wanted to share her opinions with the world in an eloquent manner, as well as helping others understand that their opinions matter. Riley has danced for 13 years. “We have a love-hate relationship, me and ballet,” she said. “I have a tendency to decide to do a lot of different things, like I’m fencing right now!” Riley can see herself later in life break-dancing in front of a bakery she owns. She jokes about having her senior pictures taken of her in the act of baking. “Food brings magic,” she said. Her favorite cupcake to bake is a vanilla chai spice cupcake, which has been described as tasting like autumn. She participates in Foothill’s Speech team, performing a style of speech called impromptu because it’s made up on the spot. Riley is also planning on co-heading up Foothill’s Political Action and Awareness Club (PAAC), which she says she’s been planning for all summer. “I think it’s important to have an open forum. In PAAC you can inform the general public,” she said. Unlike many seniors, she’s excited to take on the college admissions process and open doors to new learning opportunities. But most of all, she’s ready to spread her happiness and “magic” to the world.
