Carrie Coonan is a junior, second-year staffer and first-year editor of the photography section of the Foothill Dragon Press. Her passion for photojournalism inspired her to apply for the position of editor for her section. Outside of journalism, she has many other extracurriculars and hobbies. She enjoys being a part of the BioScience Academy, is finding Medical Technology interesting so far and is looking forward to learning more throughout the year. Following her science education in high school, she hopes to find some sort of a career in environmental science, possibly with wildlife and conservation. She is passionate about working towards trying to better the world around her, and reverse the negative state it is currently in. In addition to BioScience, she has a full course load of Honors and AP classes. She is most nervous for AP English because she doesn’t consider herself to be great at writing under pressure. After school, she describes her second priority as sleep, something that often gets forgotten junior year. Outside of academics, she has been playing the guitar for the past four and a half years, and is currently taking lessons once a week. She’s been thinking about maybe trying out for Air Guitar in the spring. In three words, she would describe herself as “eager, lazy and motivated.” While that would seem contradictory to some, she feels that she has lots of motivation to do things, but doesn’t always have the energy to accomplish it. Overall, she’s hoping she’ll be able to balance her many commitments this year, and is looking forward to a great year in journalism.
