Foothill’s girls’ basketball team played against Cate School on Thursday and was defeated 54-33.
Coach Jason Edgmond believes that to improve the results of the game, the team could have done better on their defense.
“We did not rebound very well on the defensive side of the ball,” said Edgmond.
However, Edgmond thinks that the team did well on their offense and getting the ball around the court without interference from Cate.
“The team moved the ball very well, and got a lot of good shots. We had very few turnovers, so we did a good job protecting the ball,” he said.
The leading scorers of the game were juniors Becca Negrette and Vanessa Ojeda who each scored six points.
Overall, the team has had 11 wins and six losses. In the Frontier League, the team has had eight wins and two losses.
Coach Edgmond believes that the circumstances were against them in this game.
“The team played hard, [but] things just didn’t go our way,” he said.
The team’s next game is Friday night against Nordhoff High School.
