The Dragons battled Fillmore High School last Thursday and cinched the game with a 3-1 win after three previous ties against the team.
Sophomore Gwynneth Redemann scored the first goal for Foothill on an assist from junior Annika Flint. Senior Nyssa Torres scored the second goal for the Dragons by Flint again and Torres scored the final goal of the game on an assist from senior Alex Ramirez.
Sophomore Olivia Morales was proud of how her teammates adapted to the game and “capitaliz[ed] on our set plays,” which are free kicks and corner kicks.
“I felt that our passes became very fluid as the game developed,” Morales said.
However, she did feel that the team can improve on “playing more consistent[ly] throughout the game.”
The win brings the Dragons to a 5-2-3 record overall and a 2-0 record in league.
