On Friday night, the varsity boys’ basketball team competed in an away game against Cate School. The game ended in a Foothill loss 45-52.
Junior Daniel Holst scored ten points and had ten rebounds, junior Tyler Regan-Sutton scored ten points, and sophomore Cameron Strain scored nine points, had eight rebounds, and had four assists for the Dragons.
Varsity Coach Dean Prophet felt the team played “very [well]” in the first and third quarter of the game and had made a “big improvement” since their last game against Cate.
“We handled their pressure and press much better and executed our offense much better,” Prophet said.
Prophet believes that if the team continues to improve, they will “be in the situation where [they] will end up on the other side of the [win and loss] column.”
“If [we] keep improving, stick together as a team and learn to play every possession-limiting mistakes both mentally and physically, that we can compete with anyone in our league,” Prophet said.
The team has two practices left to prepare for the last game of the season against Thacher School.
“[We will] do our best to get a win on our last game of the season,” Prophet said.
The team currently has a league record of 2-9 and an overall record of 6-16.
