The 2025 track season highlighted significant performances from many athletes, with deep runs into the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) post season. The season marked a historic record number of athletes hitting their qualifying marks to progress during the Tri-Valley League final hosted at Ventura College.
Through the trials of CIF Prelims, Bennett Rodman ’26 and Keera Wallace ’26 emerged as the only two qualifying female athletes from Foothill, joined by the qualified six boys and the boys’ 4×400 relay team.
The field saw Ian Clayton ‘25 compete in pole vault, Elijah Spencer ‘26 in boys’ shot put and Rodman competing in both long jump and high jump, respectively.
The first event on the track introduced the boys’ 800-meter with Andres Hernandez ‘26, who set a personal record with a standout performance of 1:59.09 to break the two minute mark.
Subsequently, Chance Leandro ‘26 and Brandon Wofford ‘26 went on to compete in the boys’ 1600-meter, Leandro then additionally raced in the 3200-meter. Conor Bursek ‘25 advanced himself to be the only hurdler from Foothill Tech to the line in the 300-meter hurdles. Lastly, Wallace raced in the girls 1600-meter and set a new personal record of 5:14.87.
Rodman was the only athlete to go onto progress to CIF Masters where she competed in high jump, and took home a tenth place finish.
While the 2025 track season was marked by success, athletes and coaches alike are looking ahead with hopes of achieving even more in the seasons to come.
