The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys baseball faced an up-and-down 2024 spring season as they finished with a record of 14-12-1. Their record left the Dragons satisfied as they saw massive improvements from the previous spring season.
Along with their regular season, the Dragons breezed through league competition as they took first place in the Frontier League with an undefeated 6-0 record which allowed them to compete in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs.
Despite their successes, the team suffered a heartbreaking first round exit in CIF play against Mary Star of the Sea High School. Despite the Dragons fighting hard until the end they still faced a narrow 3-2 loss to end their season.
Adam Arth ‘24 played a huge part in the teams’ success as he led the team with a .435 batting average, six home runs and 30 hits. Aidan Gomez ‘25 also contributed heavily as he led the team with 19 stolen bases, and 30 runs scored.
Assistant coach Sam Campa spoke on the teams’ nature, stating, “Everyone’s positive and upbeat. We really know how to play the game right.”
The Dragons hope to build on their successes and reach further in CIF play in the upcoming season.
