On the sunny afternoon of March 7, 2025, students took turns competing to see who could sink the first basket on the inflatable basketball court during Foothill Technology High School's (Foothill Tech) final Renaissance Rally. With a Spirit Week helping students get in-theme for the Rally, the events and festivities are designed to reward students with their academic achievement so far in the school year. New out of class passes have been introduced to students of Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech). This new system enforces how students spend time out side of the classroom during class time. The two different types of passes are the restroom pass and the office pass. Each pass has a time limit and requires teacher signature to allow a student to use the pass.

As the sun sets, the Channel Islands National Park visitor center closes up shop. The Channel Islands are less than two hours by boat from the Ventura Harbor and are home to many unique plants and animals. This is just one of the 63 amazing national parks across the country.

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, thousands assembled at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. to witness the 97th presentation of the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, to the best movie actors, directors, producers, writers and technicians of the preceding year. Millions more tuned in on their televisions to snatch a glimpse of Hollywood's legendary glamour, in addition to the flashy red carpet looks of hundreds of celebrities. Broadly considered the most prestigious honors in the film industry, the Oscars are bestowed annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to recognize outstanding achievements in cinema.

Amidst the pre-finals week tension lingering in the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) halls, therapy dogs from "Love on a Leash" were brought on campus on Jan. 19, 2024 to uplift students' spirits and provide comfort as they begin to navigate their way into the upcoming week of final exams. Therapy animals offer stress relief, improve moods and provide comfort to enhance emotional well-being in diverse settings.

On the rainy night of Jan. 17, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys' basketball takes on Grace Brethren High School (Grace Brethren) in a defensive 54-43 win. The top scorers of the game were two sophomores, Nick Drucker '26 (number 5) and Elijah Spencer '26 (number 42). Drucker had 16 points, three of which were 3-pointers. Spencer had 10 points, most of which were scored from the paint. On the defensive side, Luigirey Guce '25 (number 1) had multiple steals, leading to fast breaks that got the Dragons easy lay-ups. Although they scored only 21 points in the first half, Foothill Tech pushed past their slow start, ending the game with 22 points in the fourth quarter. Their next game is on Jan. 19, 2024, against Villanova Preparatory High School (Villanova).

The Horror In The Stacks event took place at the E.P. Foster Library. The second floor was covered with black paper restricting all light sources and converted into a haunted maze. With a total of six zones to go through, the maze also had craft stations at the end to bring some peace after going through it all.

On Oct. 5, 2023, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) hosted La Reina High School (La Reina) in the Tri-Valley league match. Before the start of every game, the girls' volleyball team runs through a tunnel built by students of Foothill Tech. The team was led by Kaili Garrett '24 and was acknowledged with high-fives from students.

On March 1, 2025, Foothill Technology Highschool (Foothill Tech) faced off versus Saint Monica Preparatory (St. Monica) in their first home game of the season. Shane White grips (number 10) his bat and digs into the left batters box in hopes of getting on base and extending their lead. After a strong game, the Dragons swept the competition 4-0.

On Feb. 25, 2025 the Foothill Teconolgy High School (Foothill Tech) girls beach volleyball team faced off against Santa Clara High School (Santa Clara). The match took place at the beach volleyball courts located inside the Ventura Harbor, and was an easy win for the Dragons with a final score of 5-0. Girls beach volleyball shuts out Santa Clara
On Feb. 25, 2025, Foothill Technology (Foothill Tech) boys volleyball faced off against Cate School (Cate). Taking place at Cabrillo Middle School, Foothill Tech's own terrain, the match began at 6 p.m. Unfortunately, this second home game of the season ended in a 3-1 loss. Foothill Tech secured the first set, yet fell to Cate in the last three. In the image above, the team gathers in a tight huddle during a timeout, strategizing for the following sets. Coach Dave Benedik urges the team to communicate more efficiently, as many lost points were attributed to a lack of communication on passes and set balls. The team listens intently, hoping to garner more points as they return to their positions on the court.

Curren Wiggins '26 (number 13) and Elijah Haigh '25 (number 15) leap to block a spike from Bishop Diego High School (Bishop Diego) during their volleyball match. Despite the block, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) couldn’t secure a win, losing 0-3. The team played with heart and intensity, refusing to back down. While Bishop Diego's offense triumphed, Foothill Tech’s defense showed resilience and determination throughout the game.

As the league seasons come to a close, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) had multiple teams advance into California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section playoffs. With both boys and girls basketball and boys soccer finishing top-three in league, they advanced deep into playoffs, successfully representing their school and the Dragon spirit.

On the cold, rainy night of Feb. 12, 2025 Foothill Technology High school (Foothill Tech) boys basketball team won against Coastal Christian School for the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Head Coach, Jamaal Brown leads and unites his team at the end of the game and celebrates their win. This team has showed a remarkable amount of dedication and is determined to carry their hard work into the next round of CIF.
