The release of Doja Cat’s albums have spanned from her first songs on Sound Cloud encased in the album “Purr!”, on Aug. 5, 2014 to the most recent studio album “Scarlet”, on Sept. 22, 2023. On their third world tour, Act: Promise, the group has continued to further prove their success with each concert.

I Saw the TV Glow is a psychological horror drama film released by A24 on May 3, 2024. It was written and directed by Jane Shoebrun and stars Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine. The film follows two young teens dealing with a variety of mental health difficulties, and their downward spiral following the cancellation of their favorite TV show. The film deals with a variety of themes, most notably mental health, identity and sexuality.

On the morning of June 11, 2024 Foothill Technology High Schools (Foothill Tech) associated student body (ASB) won the 2024 Platinum Tier School of Distinction Award. Only 59 high schools in the nation have been awarded this award, which required the high schools to have a positive environment and culture on campus.

In the afternoon of June 11, 2024, seniors of Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) and their family and friends gathered together on the Ventura College football field to celebrate one of the most momentous occasions for each senior: graduation. Pictured above, Sarah ONeil 24 waves at her family and friends in the audience after making the long anticipated trek across the stage to receive her diploma. Decorated with scads of chords to celebrate her high school achievements, ONeil plans to continue achieving her dreams by attending California State University, Chico in the fall.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls soccer did exceptionally well in league, placing first with a record of 8-1-1. Led by team captains Shayna Dearman-So ‘24, Taylor Listen ‘24, Cameryn Henuber ‘24 and Eva Goncalves ‘25, the team made it to round one of CIF playoffs.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys soccer made it deep into CIF, led by team captains, Matheus Gamble ‘24, Diego Flores Orozco ‘24 and Merric Bayless ‘24. The team worked tirelessly to earn third place in league with a record of 6-2-1.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls’ volleyball team had a record of 2-8 in the Tri-Valley league and an overall record of 10-14. Team captains, Ashlyn Mullin ‘24 and Kaili Garrett ‘24, led the team to California Scholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs where they finished the season strong in the first round.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls beach volleyball had a successful season of play, with a record of 7-1 in league play and an overall record of 11-6. In California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) division two, they finished the season strong, making it to round one of play.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball had an exceptionally good season, tying for first place with St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie) in the Tri-Valley league, with a record of 7-1 and an overall record of 12-12. Team captains, Petra Falcocchia ‘24 and Lauren Kaller ‘25, led the team into the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3AA playoffs, where they made it to the second round and finished their season strong.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls tennis team finished third in the Tri-Valley League. They were led by their captains, Lola Tennison ‘24 and Kira Branson ‘24, in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) when the team received a wild card and got to play.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) track and field had a phenomenal season this year. The boys had a successful season, taking seven male athletes to Southern Section Finals where the dragons made history, achieving the first CIF Finalist title with a combined point total of 33. Each of the seven boys that made it to CIF Finals earned points for the team and were able to place as one of the top six athletes in division four. The girls also had a successful season, taking one athlete all the way to CIF Finals. The program also had multiple records broken in various track and field events.

Bennett Rodman 26 receives Athlete of the Week for her remarkable track and field season, where she has displayed exceptional skills in multiple events, including hurdles, pole vault and high jump. She was the only female athlete to represent the school at the 2024 California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals, where she placed second in high jump with a height of 5 2. The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) community appreciates all her hard work in representing the school.

On the warm day of May 11, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) competes in a long day of running and field events at California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals. Foothill Tech boys make history, achieving the first CIF Finalist title with a combined point total of 33. Each of the seven boys that made it to CIF Finals earned points for the team and were able to place as one of the top six athletes on division four.

On March 8 and March 9, 2024 the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) track and field team participated in the Ventura Distance Carnival and Spartan Relays. From distance races to 100 meter dashes to hurdles, the Dragon competitors gave it their all as they completed against teams from all over the county.

Qualifying for CIF Finals with a height of 58, Jacob Lombardo 23 places fifth in his division, jumping 510 on his first attempt. Lombardo 23 additionally qualified of CIF Finals in the 4X100 meter relay, his team running aa time of 44.54 seconds.

    Dane Dodos is such a great photographer! His photos capture the perfect movements and best experiences. Dane is great a taking motion pictures.

    Dane Dodos uses his exemplary photography skills paired with his clever and revolutionary commentary on the sport he himself dominates in. This photo essay is uncontested in its quality, clarity and ability to capture the viewer in the pure excitement of the event. In short Dane Dodos is “peaking”.
