Recipe: Creamy, healthy green smoothie

If you’re looking for a drink that is refreshing, healthy, and delicious, a green smoothie is the perfect choice. Although this recipe includes spinach, the smoothie tastes like any fruit smoothie, only with an extra health boost. This smoothie is very versatile; try it as a snack or breakfast, or even as a healthy dessert.


  • 2 cups packed spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk, coconut water or juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 kiwi
  • ½ cup frozen or fresh mango
  • handful of ice


  • In a blender, blend the spinach with the almond milk, or other liquid.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients: fruit and ice, then blend. Pour and enjoy.

This recipe is a great basic green smoothie, but there are countless variations. Other fruits like peaches, pineapple, oranges, and pears also work great. Or, try adding spirulina, hemp seeds, chia seeds, or shredded coconut for more variety. For a creamy variation, add a tablespoon of peanut butter. No matter what ingredients you add, this recipe will be a healthy, delicious treat.
