Hot chocolate cookies: A cozy treat for the chilly season

As the holiday season comes to an end, and the winter rolls on, people continue to find ways to stay comfy and warm. The comforting treat of these hot cocoa cookies are the perfect pairing for the chilly weather of the new year. These simple cookies can be made with easy to find ingredients, from leftover hot chocolate packets to cream cheese, and can be prepared in less than thirty minutes.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup cream cheese
4 tbsp butter
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
¼ cup of milk
2 packets of hot chocolate mix
1 cup of chocolate chips

Directions:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2) Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and hot chocolate packets.
3) In a separate, large bowl combine sugar, brown sugar, cream cheese, butter, eggs and milk.
4) Gradually add dry ingredients to bowl.
5) Scoop and evenly spread out 1 tbsp of dough onto baking sheet lined with cookie paper.
6) Bake for 10 minutes.
7) Cool for five minutes and enjoy!
