The girls’ tennis team played at Santa Paula High School and beat them in the last league match with a score of 14-4.
All singles players won their matches and gave Foothill nine of their 14 points. The doubles teams won five out of nine matches.
The doubles team of sophomore Summer Khouvilay and freshman Sherlyn Khouvilay defeated Santa Paula’s doubles teams in all three of the matches they played.
Foothill’s team is officially the second place team in the Frontier League. Thatcher High School won the first place title.
Foothill’s overall record is 11 wins and three losses, while their league record is ten wins and two losses.
The top two singles and doubles players from each team in the league will be chosen to participate in a tournament next Tuesday and Thursday at Thatcher High School.
“The champion and runner up from singles and doubles qualify for CIF individuals,” coach Brad McClain explained.
These players will compete against one another. The champion and runner up will advance to participate with the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) team, beginning on Nov. 4 and 5.
