Why do you deserve to hold this position?
“I deserve this position because I really want to get everyone, like I said before, working together, because I want everyone to be close. I want everyone to have someone to rely on when they need someone, and so that’s why I should deserve it because I will do that.”

Emily Marostica
Grade: Sophomore
Age: 15
Running for: Junior Class President
Experience in ASB: One year
Why are you running for this position?
“I’m running for this position because I really want to change the junior class, to make it fun and more exciting. I know this year, as a sophomore, there weren’t as many activities. Our class isn’t as close as a lot of the other classes, so I want to bring us together as a whole, and make it a bigger and better experience for everyone.”
What positions have you held in the past?
“This year I am the Student Body Relations Director, and I’m kinda like the connection between the ASB and the students. I go out a lot and I ask students what they want to do and how they feel about ASB and their goals to get accomplished for the year.”
If elected, what would be your top priority?
“My top priority would have to be planning the best prom ever.”
What leadership skills have you developed in your time in ASB?
“I’ve developed a lot of planning skills, compilation skills, and communication. I’m just always there to just talk to people and I’ve learned that you always have to be outgoing to have all these character traits. You have to be outgoing to be in ASB and you have to outgoing to be willing to do stuff other kids aren’t. So I’ve learned to be a lot more outgoing in the past few years.”
Why do you deserve to hold this position?
“I think I’m the best for this position because I know, having been the ASB’s Student Body Relations Director, what the people want next year and what they’re looking for in a president.”
Why should people vote for you?
“I think this position will give me a lot of responsibility. I’m always looking to give what the people want, and not what everyone else wants. I’m always looking to make everyone happy, and over the last year I’ve been able to do that.”
Noah Greenslit

What leadership skills have developed in your time in ASB?

“People should vote for me because I’ve been sophomore VP and I’ll make sure to get the job done and help anyone that needs to be helped.”
Haley Gustafson
Grade: Sophomore
Age: 15
Running for: Junior Class Vice President
Experience in ASB: One year
Why are you running for this position?
“I am currently a Be The Change project director and that really taught me how to plan projects. I thought that would be a good opportunity to help the president help plan events.”
What positions have you held in the past?
“This is my first year of ASB, and I started off as a Renaissance Flight Assistant, but they didn’t have that at this school, so I became a Be The Change project director and I work with other teachers to plan events for the sophomores and reward them for community service.”
If elected, what would be your top priority?
“Making everyone happy. There could be lot of disagreement about where prom is held, and the junior class president plans prom. I would want to help plan and make sure everyone’s happy, because it’s hard to do that by yourself.”
What leadership skills have you developed in your time in ASB?
“Communication, mostly, because we work with a lot of businesses and you have to learn to talk to other people and get along with advisors. Sometimes it’s hard, along with listening.”
Why do you deserve to hold this position?
“I want to be helpful and I thought it would be fun to run.”
Why should people vote for you?
“It’s my first year and I’m running against Noah. That’s a bit of competition, but I just want them to know that I am here to help and I am here to listen if they have any suggestions or complaints. I am here to listen to them, and take those suggestions and put them into action.”
Will Hammer
Grade: Junior
Age: 17
Running for: Senior Class President
Experience in ASB: Three years
Why are you running for this position?
“I’ve been in ASB for three years, and I’ve kind of grown attached to the whole program and I like seeing all the inner workings of the school and how everything, how all the Renaissance Fridays happen, how everything happens. I think it’s a very interesting perspective to have and it helps prepare you for kind of the other business-like aspects and political aspects of life, and careers that are down the road. And also it’s just fun because you get to create relationships with all your classmates, and you get to create relationships with the student body because you are doing everything for them. And you get to make the school a better place. I know that’s really cliche to say, and most of the people will probably not believe me or anyone else who says that, but it is really fun, and it is really a good feeling to have when you make the school feel all synchronized and connected.”
What positions have you held in the past?
“When I was in freshman year, we actually had defined positions, so I was Freshman Vice President, but now they’re just called officers. I was Sophomore Vice President. And I’m now Junior President.”
What would be your top priority if you were to be elected?
“As an ASB representative, I’m still first and foremost a student. I’m not an administrator, I’m not a teacher; I don’t have the ultimate power. I do have a say in everything, though. So I just kind of want to be able to gauge what all the students say, what all the students feel about certain things, and then just, you know, make sure they’re represented. Because more often than not, they probably feel the same way I do, so I just want to make sure that no one feels left out and […] everything feels democratic and everyone gets represented. So that’s been my goal since I was a freshman, and that’s just what I want to do, because I think that’s the most important thing. Getting everyone represented.”
What leadership skills have you developed in your time in ASB?
“We do a big old course now on how to develop leadership skills thanks to Captain becoming the ASB advisor, and so I’ve been able to define kind of what I’m good at. I’ve always been that person who likes hearing what people have to say and offering information. I’m never afraid to offer my point of view whether or not it’s rejected. I don’t really care, I just want to make sure it’s known so it’s a possibility. I love working in teams because I love that feeling of camaraderie. If you make someone else feel good on the team, I love that feeling of ‘Oh, dude, bro, you helped me out. Thanks.’ And I think that’s a really good feeling to have. And so, cooperation, I’ve improved a great deal on. Listening, making sure people are able to say what they want to say and whether or not you need to respond, that’s a whole other matter. But, I think just being able to understand the school better, be on the student body better, is the best thing I’ve developed.”
Why do you deserve this position and why should people vote for you?
“There are only two other people who have the same experience that I do in ASB. I’ve served under Ms. Duffy, I’ve served under Captain, so I know what each expects from us, and I know how ASB works, and I have a pretty good idea of what the student body wants and how all the activities are supposed to play out. So I think that being Senior Class President would be an excellent thing to finish off my career in ASB with and to be able to see how we’ve matured, and see what I can do as the president.
Ariana Vivian

“I think it’s really important to be invested in your school’s environment and to try to change the things you see that you want to improve, and to be an active part in your school’s community.”
What positions have you held in the past?
“I haven’t. This would be my first year in ASB if I get in.”

“I think it’s really important to try to move ASB closer to the students because in the past I haven’t enjoyed it, because I felt there was a divide.”

Why do you deserve to hold this position?
“I feel I deserve this position because I don’t look at it as an honor, I look at it as a responsibility. I feel like I can better represent Foothill’s population than the other candidates. I understand them and I know a good range of people.”
Why should people vote for you?
“I better represent the people and I can bring the ASB closer to them so their needs are better met.”
Shelby Esparza

Experience in ASB: None
Why are you running for this position?
“I’ve been Vice President before at my middle school, and I got recommended to run, and so I was looking through the positions and I knew I wanted something higher, and this is the highest I can be since I haven’t been in ASB for over a year.”
Have you been in ASB at Foothill before?
“No.”
What leadership skills do you think you have gained in the past?
“I am a tutor at Poinsettia Elementary so I teach first graders, and then I also have coached my sister’s softball teams. I’m assistant coaches on all of them. So, you know, I definitely know the leadership position. I know how to be ‘higher’ I guess. I’ve run in leadership before at my middle school, I was Vice President there, so I thought it would be fun to try here.”
Why should people vote for you?
“People should vote for me because I still have an outside perspective on things I guess. You know, my biggest thing is that I’m new, this is my first year. But I think that’s why people should vote for me. It’s because I’m new, and because I still have an outside perspective on what needs to be changed at Foothill.”
Cameron Liljekvist

Annie Sinclair
Grade: Junior
Age: 17 years old
Running for: Senior Class Vice President
Experience in ASB: Three years
Why are you running for this position?
“I’ve been a part of ASB for three years now and I have a lot of experience planning events and working with others in our ASB class. I think I would be a good senior class Vice President because I’ve worked with the class presidents and Vice Presidents in the past. I know exactly what I have to do and how to do it.”
What positions have you held in the past?
“I have been secretary for the last three years.”
What would be your top priority if you were to be elected?
“As Senior class Vice President, my top priority would be graduation. From planning fundraisers for the last three years, Mr. Foothill my freshman year, Winter Formal last year, and this year, Mr. Foothill and prom, we have been saving money for graduation. Our successful events raised a lot of money, but I also gained a lot of experience. I think I am very well prepared for putting on important events, and graduation, the most important event for the senior class.”
What leadership skills have you developed in your time in ASB?
“I’ve planned a lot of successful events every year as class secretary. So I have developed people skills and business skills. I think I am very well prepared for the events that the senior class must put on.”
Why should people vote for you?
“People should vote for me because I have the most experience in ASB. I have been planning events for three years and my competitors have no experience in ASB at Foothill.”
Why do you deserve to hold this position?
“I deserve to hold this position because I have the most experience in ASB at foothill. I have planned many events in the past three years that I have been in ASB and they have been preparing me for the important events that the senior class puts on, such as senior rallies, awards nights, and most importantly, graduation.”

Just a ton of asb clones. More people doing the same things. Ariana Vivian has a brain it seems and I would vote for her with confidence

ASB clones? Maybe in the fact that they all have prior experience in ASB. But to group everyone on one slate doesn’t make sense. The candidates are diverse.
