With the release of titles like “Metaphor: Refantazio” by ATLUS and Studio Zero, “Black Myth: Wukong”, developed by Game Science, 2024 proved to be a very successful year for many game developers. At the 2024 Game Awards, there was fierce competition among the six nominations to be recognized as the "Game of the Year", with “Astrobot”, developed by Team ASOBI taking home the title.

In 2020, the Waymo company began offering self-driving car taxi services, allowing people to book rides around cities. Operating 24/7, rides can be requested through their specialized app, Waymo. Though they plan on expanding their services, as of 2024, they currently operate in parts of Phoenix, Ariz., San Francisco, Calif. and Los Angeles, Calif.

A sequel to the first "Inside Out" movie, "Inside Out 2" seeks to now focus on the emotional struggles of a teenage Riley as she navigates new social situations. Released on June 14, 2024, "Inside Out 2" introduces the new emotions Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment, who put a new wrench into the old emotion's ways of thinking. The movie is bound to entertain new and old viewers alike, with its colorful cast and engaging plot.

Now that the season for Halloween is over, it’s time to decorate for… Christmas? There is no doubt that Christmas is one of the most popular holidays of the year, with millions of people choosing to celebrate the holiday, and it’s easy to see why. Along with its religious context as the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas has also become a holiday where you can come together and gift presents to the ones you love. With the increasing excitement each year towards preparing and decorating for the oncoming Christmas season, companies and businesses aren’t afraid to jump in on the wagon. You might have seen Christmas decorations being sold as early as October, and maybe even the rare house or two decked out with icicles and Christmas lights way before Halloween even started. And of course, who could forget about poor Thanksgiving? Sandwiched between two very heavily decor emphasizing events, it’s easy to forget about decorating for Thanksgiving, as it’s decorations lean more on simple fall decor and color palettes than anything extreme, but Thanksgiving still remains a very big event, even if it may be a bit off putting to see a Christmas snowman on the counter top. In all, it seems that the Christmas spirit is arriving earlier and earlier each year. With Christmas cementing its place as one of the most popular holidays in the world, this trend doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon.

Kelvin Kiptum, a Kenyan long-distance runner, is the first person in history to run a record-eligible race in under two hours and one minute. During the October 2023 Chicago Marathon, he broke the world record by 34 seconds with his time of 2:00:35. Prior to this race, he had run an impressive debut marathon of 2:01:53 at the Valencia Marathon in 2022, making him the third fastest man to run the race. More recently during 2023, he ran the second fastest time in the London Marathon, placing a course record of 2:01:25.
