The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) baseball team ended their season by earning second in league with a record of 6-2 and ending their season with an almost even record of 15-14.
Offensively, Davin Arth ’27 led the team in both the highest batting average and on base percentage with an impressive 0.404 batting average (AVG) and 0.490 on base percentage (OBP), as well as 22 runs this season. Following closely behind was Jacory Smith ’27 with a 0.322 AVG.
Taking the mound and holding his ground all year was pitcher Shane White ’26, who had a high impact on his teams success this year. White finished the year with a 3.30 earned run average (ERA).
After leading the season by taking second in league, the Dragons qualified for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) postseason. The first round was easily won by the boys, where they took South El Monte High School (South El Monte) out from the running. The game consisted of a home run by White — his third of the year — leading him to be the top home run hitter on the team this season.
Unfortunately for the Dragons, they were shot out of the CIF postseason in the second round after taking a hard 1-11 loss against Estancia High School (Estancia). However, the future for the Foothill Tech Baseball program remains bright upon taking into account the team’s many young and growing athletes.
