On March 8, 2025, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) baseball team took to their home field for the seventh game of the season against Trinity Classical Academy (Trinity). Unfortunately, Trinity handed the home team their second loss of the season with a final score of 1-6.

Trinity came out of the gate swinging as they occupied the bases early with a single and an error. Foothill Tech’s defense looked promising however as they were able to keep Trinity off the board. Later in the top of the second inning, more seamless defense was put on display by Foothill Tech with a flyout to center field, a strikeout by starting pitcher Shane White ‘26 and a groundout to short.
The game’s momentum completely shifted in the top of the third inning as Trinity found their groove on offense. Trinity was able to explode for five straight runs on a sacrifice fly, two singles and a two run shot to right-center field on an 0-1 pitch to give Trinity a 0-5 lead over Foothill Tech.
Trinity continued their burst of offense in the top of the fourth inning on a two-out error to extend their lead to 0-6.

Foothill Tech came alive in the bottom of the fourth inning as Cooper Casey ‘27 and Davin Arth ‘27 found their swings and were able to occupy second and third base. Things looked promising for the Dragons with Aidan Gomez ‘25 up to bat until the momentum was halted as Casey was picked off at third. Luckily for Foothill Tech, Gomez brought home a run on a sacrifice hit to score Arth and slightly cut into the lead 1-6.
Connor Nelles ‘26 and Jackson Venti ‘25 were able to shut out Trinity in the following innings, but Trinity had already done just enough to secure the victory.
Foothill Tech Head Coach Mike Haas spoke on the team looking to bounce back, “Turn the page, focus on what’s next. We can work on our weakness, but more importantly build on what’s been successful. Our team dynamics are next level, and the players feed off their success.” He said that their mindset going forward is that, ” The season is a marathon not a sprint, all that matters is the next game, no more no less.”
With the loss, Foothill Tech now has five wins and two losses as of this season. They look to get back a win on March 15, 2025, against Dos Pueblos High School.
