Sophomore Josh Modglin is a first-year reporter for the Foothill Dragon Press, and is currently making history as one of the first writers for the newly established sports section of the publication. Josh is an avid reader with his favorite subjects being English and sometimes algebra (but only on a good day.) Josh aspires to write Young Adult fiction novels when he is older and looks to his favorite book ‘Divergent’ by Veronica Roth for inspiration. Josh is looking forward to improving his writing skills and to grow as a writer during his year on the Foothill Dragon Press. Outside of school, Josh swims for the Buena High School varsity team and is a Senior Group member of the Buenaventura Swim Club. His earliest memories of swimming go back to when he was just 6 weeks old, and has been a self-proclaimed ‘water baby’ ever since. Over the summer, Josh took part in the Junior Olympics at California Lutheran University and volunteered as a Junior Lifeguard. He enjoyed the experience of working with the kids and staying active. His goals for this year and for the near future are to do well in school and to become captain of his swim team by senior year. Like a true swimmer, Josh’s favorite color is blue.
