“Gravity” is about medical engineer Ryan Stone’s journey of survival in space after her ship gets destroyed and the rest of her crew dies. Stone constantly faces death as she tries to return back to earth.
Dr. Ryan Stone, the main character, is played by Sandra Bullock. The character of Matt Kowalski, one of the astronauts and Stone’s goofy friend is played by George Clooney.
This movie is an experience unlike anything you have seen before. The plot and setting of the story are unusual and fascinating, and the graphics are out of this world. (Badum-tish) The animations in this film really engulf the viewer, especially on a huge movie screen. Striking scenes of the sunset over earth and the lights of the night give the movie an eerie element and set a backdrop for the story.
The movie does a great job of building up suspense to key action scenes but it also has calm moments to soothe the intensity out. “Gravity” pushes the intensity to the brink to thrill the audience.
“Gravity” also has some deep underlying themes within its stunning visuals and gripping plot. The theme of this movie is about the constant struggle of life and death. Throughout the whole movie, Dr. Stone is faced with numerous moments that threaten her life. But then there are also scenes in the movie that hint at life, for example a scene that compares Dr. Stone to a baby in the womb.
“Gravity” is a spectacular film that brings a completely fresh movie experience to the audiences. The setting is new and intense and the animations in this movie are truly stunning and amazing. Besides the graphics, the plot of the story was also very well done with intense scenes and a deep meaning of the struggles between life and death.
