Casa Pacifica is a campus-based nonprofit organization devoted to helping unstable, abused and neglected children.
The toiletries drive will be collecting unused items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, washcloths, soap and even craft supplies.
Assistant principal Katie Tedford spoke of Weeks, who decorated a donations box for the staff room at school.
“She’s so sweet, when she asked if I could help get Foothill involved, I was like sure,” Tedford said.
Tedford suggests bringing small travel items such as hotel toiletries, and donations will be accepted through Dec. 6.
Weeks got involved with Casa Pacifica because of her love for social work.
“My passion led me to social work, and this holiday season I thought to collect toys, but the children at Casa Pacifica need everyday essentials, that’s why we’re doing a toiletries drive,” said Weeks, who is currently a senior at California State University, Channel Islands.
Math teacher Rick Villano has been volunteering for Casa Pacifica for the past eight years and feels the program is essential to the kids and their families.
“[Casa Pacifica] provides for kids who have no families and emotional problems, it gives them a place to feel at home,” he said.
