Friday night, Foothill’s senior class gathered in Spirito Hall for the annual Senior Thanksgiving Potluck.
“It’s when we see what we’re thankful for and be merry together as a grade,” said Adam Braver, who is a senior focus council member and an ASB representative.
For the first hour, students arrived at the cafeteria and helped themselves to the tables of Thanksgiving food everyone had brought. The meal was followed by several activities and games, such as Pin the Tail on the Turkey, a pie-eating contest, and a quiz on Thanksgiving trivia. The winner of each activity received a $5 gift card as a prize.
After the games, ASB students brought out a big poster and everyone wrote what they were thankful for.
“It’s nice to have all of us together instead of being at home working on college apps,” senior Amanda Torres said. “We’re all leaving each other in six months. This is the one time we can celebrate Thanksgiving together.”
The event is put on by the senior class officers and the senior focus council. This is only the second year that they have put on the event.
“Trevor Kirby basically invented it last year,” said senior class president Stephen Mariani. “He put it in place, and they had a good turnout with the 2012 class. He really encouraged me to continue with the tradition.”
