Gabby Sones is a second-year Opinion writer and Web Editor of the Foothill Dragon Press. Her passion for current events led her to join Speech & Debate and Youth & Government, and she likes to think she’s a freedom fighter. This year Gabby is starting her second year of cross country and distance track for Foothill; she loves running trails in the hills with her teammates. You will never see her without her Camelbak water bottle, hydrating for the day’s run. Another one of Gabby’s passions is art. She’s starting her third year of zero period AP art and can’t wait for another year of scrambling to complete her portfolio and volunteering at Dorothy Boswell School with art club. Her favorite artists are David Hockney and Henri Matisse. With her free time, Gabby likes to read classical novels, go to art museums and watch movies. Her inspiration is Josephine Baker for her ability to defend an unpopular opinion. Gabby hopes that in this year of opinion writing she’ll be able to exemplify similar qualities, bringing justice to Ventura and beyond.
