On April 22, 2025, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys golf team took to the greens of Olivas Links Golf Course, a par 36 course across nine holes, against a heavily unmanned Providence School (Providence).

Foothill Tech, while not armed with their strongest players, took the victory with ease with a score of 286-324. The evening’s game also served as a test for Benjamin Venti ‘26 to determine his position in the League Finals match.
Reagan Wolfe ‘27 and Venti lead the way for Foothill Tech with scores of 44 and 45 respectively, which set a course high for Venti.
Curren Wiggins ‘27 and Alex Ramirez ‘26 followed closely behind with scores of 47 and 48.
Michael Haines ‘25 and Brandon Bernardi ‘28 wrapped up the scoring for Foothill Tech, each with scores of 51, only 15 over par.
With Providence only manned with three players, the averages of their scores were tallied up to a total score of 324.
Since there is a line of 45 to qualify for the League Finals match, Venti’s final putt on hole nine was just enough to push him through to qualification. Venti stated, “It feels absolutely amazing, first time ever in my golf career.”
With Venti qualifying for League Finals and Wolfe having done so previously, they will join James Markov ‘25, Ben Markov ‘27, Sebastian Huovinen ‘27 and Hansen Chen ‘27 to compete for a league title and a spot into the CIF rounds.
