Addi Fallon ’25 is a star on the soccer field and a crucial player for the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls soccer team. Fallon began her soccer career at Foothill Tech as a sophomore after transferring from Ventura High School (Ventura). Ever since Fallon joined Foothill Tech’s program, she has played on the varsity team as the goalkeeper, ending her sophomore year with 67 saves and five shutouts. When her junior year ended, she totaled nine shut-out games and an uncounted number of saves, leading her into her senior year where she currently has four shutouts, reaching for more before the season ends.
Even though her sophomore year is when her Foothill Tech soccer career began, this was not Fallon’s first experience in soccer. Fallon has played soccer for the past 13 years of her life, starting when she was 4 and playing ever since. Fallon started with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) up until 5th grade when she joined club soccer, her first team being VFC, which followed with her joining Sporting California and ending her junior and senior year with SURF.
Fallon has played with many teams and many teammates throughout her life and Foothill Tech’s team has been a new experience for her. She explains how the past few years the community has been fun and welcoming, and they work together well. The 2024-2025 season for her in the community was about rebuilding because of how young the varsity team came to be this year. The biggest aspect of the team that stood out to her was how inclusive their team is and how quickly they were able to grasp onto each other.
“Soccer is a part of my identity,” Fallon mentions when asked what soccer means to her. She spends all year playing the game without breaks so soccer has brought her most of her friends. What kept her in the sport and made her continue is her passion for being on a team, and the community around it including all the friends she made. The game of soccer is overall something she loves to do and brings her joy by just being on the field.
Throughout her high school career, two people who have significantly impacted Fallon were Taylor Liston ’24, and Miki Pecchi ’25. When Fallon first joined the program, Liston took her under her wing and Fallon felt like Liston was her mom on the field. Pecchi impacted Fallon by always being a support system for her, as Pecchi steps in to be there for Fallon no matter what and that connection they have has truly impacted Fallon.
Fallon’s teammate Mylee Truax ’27 shared a few words about her, “Addi is very motivating, she definitely has the strongest voice on the field and she just keeps us together as a team all the time.”
Fallon comes into each game with a calming mindset to focus on the current moment. Every game Fallon tells herself not to stress about it too much. She explains that being a goalkeeper is such a stressful position because she is the last defender so it’s important to remind herself to not stress about it and remember that this is just a game, this has helped her a lot during her career.
While senior year is coming to an end for Fallon she thinks about her future. Even with the talent Fallon has, she doesn’t plan to continue soccer in the future after this 2025 season ends because of how hard the sport has been on her body. Although she doesn’t wish to continue in the sport, her career path she wishes to take part in has been impacted by her soccer career. Grounded on the amount of injuries Fallon has endured she desires to be a physical therapist or sports aid in the future to help out other athletes based on what she has learned about sports injuries from her path in soccer.
