Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball had an exceptionally good season, tying for first place with St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie) in the Tri-Valley league, with a record of 7-1 and an overall record of 12-12. Team captains, Petra Falcocchia ‘24 and Lauren Kaller ‘25, led the team into the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3AA playoffs, where they made it to the second round and finished their season strong.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball saw much success throughout the course of their regular season. The team finished with an even, 12-12 record, and tied for first place in the Tri-Valley League with a record of 7-1 which allowed them to advance to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs.

Unfortunately, their CIF season was cut short in the second round against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary High School with a loss of 53-25.

Foothill Tech’s seniors, Petra Falcocchia ‘24, Alexa Taylor ‘24, Janae Dixon ‘24, Olivia Mowad ‘24 and Nisha Reddy ‘24, who were all celebrated during the annual senior night, held a strong leadership throughout the course of the season.

The Dragons were also recognized as Mowad, Taylor and Falcocchia were awarded first-team honors, followed by Dixon and Reddy who were both awarded second-team honors.
Falcocchia described the end of her season as a Dragon as “bittersweet.”

On the other hand, Coach Chuck Ferris described that the next year will be played as, “a different brand of basketball … probably one with a faster pace.”

With old and new pieces of the team leaving and joining, the Dragons hope to reach further into CIF in the upcoming season.
