On Tuesday, August 23rd, 274 new freshmen walked onto Foothill’s campus. But even for returning students, there will be new teachers and programs to become accustomed to. This year Foothill welcomed aboard three new teachers:
- Tera Creech is teaching Biology and College Prep Chemistry
- Colleen Malone is the temporary Bioscience Academy Director and is teaching both Bioscience Survey and Biotechnology
- Brittany Sheldon is teaching 10th grade College Prep World Literature and 12th grade College Prep English
For Sheldon, acclimation to Foothill “has been great.”
“The staff has been wonderful, our administration has been super supportive and loving. I have felt really welcome even from students. I have flowers on my desk from students and it’s been a wonderful experience,” she said.
Not only have new teachers been added to the Foothill staff, but older teachers have taken on new responsibilities. Art teacher Justin Frazier has taken on the new responsibility of being the advisor for Yearbook.
Applied Arts teacher Conni Carr, who was previously the yearbook advisor, has become the teacher of Foothill’s new AP Computer Science class.
“I told [the Yearbook staff] that it’s not their yearbook, it’s the school’s yearbook. We’re trying to get a yearbook that accurately depicts Foothill,” Frazier said.

Many thanks to Justin Frazier for accepting the challenge of taking on Foothill’s yearbook program; his artistic influence and design background promises a new avenue of development for our yearbook staff. I am excited to see the publication go in new directions. Mr. Frazier’s generosity of spirit is letting me delve into a new and exciting curricular area. This is such an awesome place to be! I am so fortunate!!! Have a great year, everyone!
