Gabby Sones is a sophomore and a first year writer in the opinion section for the Foothill Dragon Press. Her interest in social injustices inspired her to join opinion, and she’s eager to express her beliefs through her writing. She’s a member of PAAC and NAHS, and plans to join speech and debate this year. She enjoys volunteering at Dorothy Boswell School with NAHS. Gabby is an avid cross country runner and is thrilled to be a part of Foothill’s first ever cross country team. Perhaps you’ve seen her charging through Ventura with her teammates. She also runs distance track, and is always striving to improve her 1600-meter personal record. When not running countless miles or studying for her classes, she enjoys creating Spotify playlists for obscure occasions, reading short stories by Ernest Hemingway, and educating herself on current events. She hopes her love for watching the news will come in handy while writing for the opinion section. Gabby doesn’t have a definite plan for her future, but she hopes it will be spent influencing people through her words.
