Rachel Horiuchi is a junior at Foothill Technology High School and a first-year staffer for the multimedia section. She is an aspiring photographer and is excited to be part of the Foothill Dragon Press to experience the pressure of time limits and deadlines. When she is not taking pictures, Rachel is either strictly planning daily schedules and managing time for schoolwork or practicing at the Channel Islands Ice Center, having been a figure skater for over nine years and a dancer for four years. Through her ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop classes, she has found her love for performing and hopes to explore the field of performing arts in college. Her goal is to one day be a part of the figure skating performing business. As she frequently listens to music to inspire her skating, one of her favorite bands is OneRepublic. Rachel’s favorite television show is Chopped, which is fitting, as she looks forward to attending culinary school after college to take on her passion for cooking. Although she recognizes the demanding expectations of her junior year, and admits it will be strenuous to push through the complications between schoolwork and practice, she is eager to see where the thrilling road of her high school life may take her.
