Brooklyne Shepherd is a sophomore and a first-year writer for the A&E section of the Foothill Dragon Press. She has been doing competitive cheerleading for about seven years and is currently on Plastix, a competitive cheerleading team for the California All Stars, which often travels throughout the country to perform cheer routines. Last year, Brooklyne was awarded the coach’s award which recognized her hard work in the sport. She hopes to continue competitive cheer throughout high school and into her college years. When not at school or at cheer, Brooklyne enjoys spending her free time watching Netflix, hanging out with friends, surfing, baking, and shopping. Also, she can sometimes be found just dancing around her house, a habit formed from years of dance lessons. Brooklyne has something of an obsession with Nike Pros, the color pink, and chocolate. She is not sure about her plans for the future, but hopes to attend a four-year university that offers either cheerleading or power tumbling as a sport. She also hopes to spend time traveling to other countries and exploring their cultures. Brooklyne is excited for the opportunity to write for the Foothill Dragon Press and excited to see where journalism will take her.
