Sofia Vega '26 dribbles at the top of the key, carefully surveying the defense and looking for an opening as she orchestrates the offense. From the past 20 years, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) has been growing, and so has the sports program and it's number of athletes. Much of the student body at Foothill Tech are a part of one or more sports teams, whether it is soccer, basketball, cross country or baseball, students dedicate hours of their time to represent the school. But what is left in the shadows is what each of these student athletes do during their selected sports off-season? From extra training and hosted practices, to special recovery tactics, these Dragons commit themselves to improving their skills towards their sport even after their season has ended.

With a win against Santa Clara on Friday Dec. 6, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys basketball team traveled to Buena High School to battle the Bulldogs in a nail-biting game. Although the Dragons were up by three at halftime, the Bulldogs fought back and won, with the final score of 54-61. Pictured, Ashton Brown '26 (number 11), takes the ball down the court using his handles to out-maneuver his defender. Brown was one of the key components of the game from his efforts on offense, ranging from three-pointers to ball movement, to his intense defense that resulted in multiple blocks and steals.
