The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys’ soccer team performed well throughout the 2024 to 2025 school year, placing 3rd in the Tri-Valley league with a 4-4 record. While their overall record was 7-8, the Dragons played well throughout the year, showing immense talent and dedication, with standout players such as Kaizer Castillo ’28 and Stefan Hubner ‘25, who is pictured above.

Coming off of a stellar previous season, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys soccer team reloaded with new players and experienced a season of ups and downs. Foothill Tech finished 7-8 with an even record of 4-4 in the Tri-Valley League.

With the Dragons finishing third in the Tri-Valley league, they were able to qualify into the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Division Five playoffs. The Dragons pushed through the first round with ease as they matched up against Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles. Foothill Tech advanced by scoring a plethora of goals to win 7-1. However, the team’s run was cut short when they were eliminated in the second round by Cobalt Institute of Math & Science with an outing of 4-1.

Although the season was interrupted by an early CIF loss, the Dragons hold their heads high with optimism for the future of the program.

On Jan. 30, 2025 family and friends gathered around the soccer field at Ventura College to support Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) senior boys on their celebratory senior night. This match was held against Bishop Garcia Diego High School (Bishop Diego) and ended in a Foothill Tech win with a final score of 3-1, making the teams league record 4-4, with a spot in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Before the game, a ceremony was held where each senior walked down the field hand in hand with their family, while one of their coaches listed off a few fun facts about the player. The seniors that were reconsider were Julian Lopez ‘25, Stefan Hubner ‘25, Samuel Lozano ‘25, Christophe Issa ‘25, Kiran Maserang ‘25, Jaysen Fernandez ‘25, Julian Cartellieri ‘25, Connor Bursek ‘25, Ronan Murphy ‘25, Alex Sundberg ‘25 and Johann Cerda ‘25.

On Jan. 9, 2025, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys soccer team played against Thatcher High School (Thatcher) in a league match. The dragons took the win 3-0 with goals from Dylan Files '26 (number 6), Kaizer Castillo '28 (number 7) and Ammar Atiah '26 (number 20).

On the night of Nov. 25, 2024, Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) varsity soccer players faced off against Santa Clara High School (Santa Clara). They took a clear lead from the beginning, and ended up securing a win 5-0. Conner Bursek '25 (number 19) can be seen putting pressure on Santa Clara's defense, and aiding the Dragons to mainitan their win. He looks for an opportunity to pass to his teammates further down on the field.

On Nov. 18, 2024, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys soccer team took to Fillmore High School (Fillmore) to compete in a non-league match. The Dragons gave it all they had, but lost 1-5.

Throughout the 2024 to 2025 school year, the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls' water polo team performed well, earning 2nd place in the Tri-Valley league with a record of 4-1. Their overall standings were 5-6, placing them at 228 in Calif. overall, highlighting the Dragons' teamwork and commitment throughout the school year. In addition to their Calif. ranking, the girls' water polo team made it to the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Champions for Division 5, however, they were unfortunately beaten by Hemet High School (Hemet) 9-5, putting an end to the Dragons season.

The Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys water polo team performed well throughout the duration of the 2024 to 2025 school year, ending up 3rd place in league. Despite their overall record of 4-12, the Dragons displayed hard work and resilience throughout the season, increasing their state ranking from the previous season by 66 places.

Foothill Technology High School’s (Foothill Tech) boys baseball team earned a 3–1 victory over El Monte High School in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section playoffs on May 16, 2025. The Dragons set the tone early and maintained steady control throughout the game showcasing their defense and consistent energy on the field. Foothill Tech held firm to secure the win. The result marks an important step in the Dragons postseason journey as they look to build on the momentum heading into the second round that takes place on May 21, 2025 against Estancia.

On May 10, 2025 the best of Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) track and field athletes, of those that qualified at the Tri-Valley League Championships the week prior, gathered together at Carpinteria High School to face off against their competing division four athletes. From here the athletes battled off to qualify for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Finals, which took place at Moorpark High School on May 17, 2025.

During the game on May 5, 2025 the Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys' baseball team went against St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie). This was a compelling game which closed out the Dragons season as they remain undefeated in league. Garrett Ready '26 (number 22) cheering with the rest of his teammates for the players out on the felid from the sideline. The teams camaraderie and encouragement was a key component on Foothill Tech boys' baseball teams overall success.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls soccer did exceptionally well in league, placing first with a record of 8-1-1. Led by team captains Shayna Dearman-So ‘24, Taylor Listen ‘24, Cameryn Henuber ‘24 and Eva Goncalves ‘25, the team made it to round one of CIF playoffs.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) boys soccer made it deep into CIF, led by team captains, Matheus Gamble ‘24, Diego Flores Orozco ‘24 and Merric Bayless ‘24. The team worked tirelessly to earn third place in league with a record of 6-2-1.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls’ volleyball team had a record of 2-8 in the Tri-Valley league and an overall record of 10-14. Team captains, Ashlyn Mullin ‘24 and Kaili Garrett ‘24, led the team to California Scholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs where they finished the season strong in the first round.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls beach volleyball had a successful season of play, with a record of 7-1 in league play and an overall record of 11-6. In California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) division two, they finished the season strong, making it to round one of play.

Foothill Technology High School (Foothill Tech) girls basketball had an exceptionally good season, tying for first place with St. Bonaventure High School (Bonnie) in the Tri-Valley league, with a record of 7-1 and an overall record of 12-12. Team captains, Petra Falcocchia ‘24 and Lauren Kaller ‘25, led the team into the California Scholastic Federation (CIF) Division 3AA playoffs, where they made it to the second round and finished their season strong.
